What we can work toward

Capacity that matters outside training

The objective is not to train like somebody else. It is to make your own life feel more manageable, capable and confident.

Strength for daily life

Practise the patterns behind stairs, carrying, getting up, walking and everyday tasks.

Balance and confidence

Build steadiness through controlled strength, coordination and appropriately challenging movement.

Return after inactivity

Start from your current capacity after illness, surgery, a fall in confidence or a long break.

Long-term independence

Develop physical capacity that supports the activities, people and routines that matter to you.

Training without gym pressure

Learn at your pace with clear explanations and no expectation that you already know how to exercise.

Health-aware progression

Adapt training around relevant medical guidance, energy, symptoms and recovery.

Online personal coaching

Your training managed around real life

For people who can train independently but want an exercise professional to plan, manage and adapt the work as their health, schedule and capacity change.

€50 per week

  • Regular check-ins, plan reviews and progression decisions

Clear scope

This is online exercise coaching, not an in-person session package. Nutrition support is practical education and habit coaching, not medical nutrition therapy. New or worsening medical concerns should be assessed by an appropriate healthcare professional.

Client stories

Support adapted to the person

These verified reviews from previous clients reflect the coaching style: progressive, attentive and adapted. They do not imply that the reviewers had the same history or age.

“You’re getting me fit again, step by step, with so much patience and motivation. Every session is well planned and genuinely varied — training has never felt this engaging.”

A trainer who actually listens
“A sympathetic, professional sports scientist who really tunes the work to what each person needs. The sessions are different every time, and you can feel he cares about getting it right.”

Designed around real life

A calm way to begin

You do not need gym experience. Exercises are explained clearly, practised at an appropriate pace and progressed only when the current step feels controlled.

Sessions can happen in a nearby park, on a flat promenade, at home where appropriate or in a suitable indoor space. Choosing a convenient environment reduces friction and makes consistency more realistic.

If you are returning after illness, surgery or physiotherapy, training respects the guidance you have received and starts from your current capacity—not where you think you should be.

For families

Looking for support for a parent?

You are welcome to make the first enquiry and help explain the context. Coaching goals, consent and decisions will always be agreed directly with the person training, with family involvement only where they want it.

Questions

Strength training for older adults FAQs

  • Am I too old or too unfit to start strength training?

No fixed fitness level is required. Training begins with what you can manage safely and confidently now. If medical clearance is relevant, we establish that before progressing.

  • What if I have arthritis, an old injury or a health condition?

Coaching can often be adapted around a stable condition and guidance from your healthcare team. It does not diagnose, treat or replace medical care or physiotherapy.

  • Do I need to join a gym?

No. Sessions can happen outdoors near you, at home where appropriate, or in a suitable local training space. Equipment and location are chosen around the plan and your confidence.

  • Can a family member make the first enquiry?

Yes. A family member can start the conversation, but goals, consent and coaching decisions are always agreed directly with the person who will be training.

  • How much does it cost?

In-person 1:1 coaching is €75 per hour. Online coaching is €50 per week for personalised programming, day-to-day adaptations, check-ins and diet and habit guidance. It does not include an in-person session.

Personal Trainer Salou provides exercise science-based coaching, personal training, health education and rehabilitation-informed exercise support. It does not replace medical diagnosis, physiotherapy, dietetic treatment or specialist healthcare. For medical conditions, pregnancy, cancer, diabetes, neurological conditions or post-surgical recovery, coaching may be adapted alongside medical or allied-health guidance where appropriate.
